Hey folks-
We just got back from another awesome Rice Bowl Charter. Charter master Al Myers had everyone down there early and ready to go. After we left the dock we loaded up on a beautiful load of anchovies and headed down the coast towards Colonet. After a seminar we got rigged up and ready to go for the mornings Yellowtail action. The weather is flat calm and is supposed to be the same for the next few days.
We arrived at the zone first thing in the morning and saw good fish but it wouldn’t bite. After scratching only a few fish we decided to head south a little and that decision paid off. Biting yellowtail awaited us and they bit well. We ended up with well over 100 Yellowtail and some mixed Rockfish. We decided to stay here and try again in the morning.
The yellows were still there but not as eager. We scratched a few handfuls of yellows and then concentrated on Rockfish, which we scraped out limits of. All in all, a great trip with a great group of people. We leave next Tuesday on a 14 day ecology trip and then a couple more 2.75 day trips, including another Rice Bowl Charter. Hope to see you on the water.
We would like to thank our Rice Bowl sponsors Accurate , Tady, Calstar and Fisherman’s Processing!!!
