Texas Fish Report

What a GREAT way to start the new year. Does it get any better than this. Fishing on the EL BUDSTER. Erik Baron & Kevin McGurren from Miami, Fl combine to catch & release SIX STRIPED MARLIN.( 100 - 100 - 120 - 120 - 120- 130 - 130 lbs.) They also catch & release a 130 lb. SAILFISH. They were all caught on live Pacific Mackerel. The fighting times were all between 25 to 45 minutes. They also caught a 30 lb. MAKO SHARK. On the EL BUDSTER I. Gary Wyer from Phoenix, AZ catches & releases a 130 lb. STRIPED MARLIN. It was caught on a live Pacific Mackerel and takes 45 minutes to get to the boat. On the EL BUDSTER II. The Robert Dugan party from El Paso, TX catches & releases two STRIPED MARLIN.( 110 & 120 lb.) Both were caught on live Pacific Mackerel.The fighting times were 35 & 40 minutes. The EL BUDSTER fished at the Golden Gate Reef. The EL BUDSTER I & EL BUDSTER II fished at the Lighthouse Reef. The water temp. was 74 -75 degrees.
