Catching the Spotlight
We had a few anglers target some fish other than trout this week. Dong Vilaysane (top) caught this 5 lb. bass in lake 5. He was using a crankbait. Tony Santiago (bottom) was camping on lake 6 and managed to catch this huge 27 lb. carp. To improve water quality in our lakes carp are catch and keep only. We have a punch card available in the General Store. If you catch 10 carp your next permit is free.
Lake lowdown
Avg. Water Temp: 53.4 °F
Water Clarity: 3 ft.
Trout are still the main fish being targeted. Powerbait is by far the most productive bait this week. Bass are still being caught in spite of the cooler weather. Most anglers reporting to me have been catching them in the afternoon.
