Catch Rates Are Low

Catch rates are very low despite significant effort along Shoalwater Bay last weekend. Much of Upper Klamath is ice-free with the exception of small part of Shoalwater Bay and upper Agency Lake near Sevenmile Creek. Shoalwater Bay and Howard Bay are mostly open as well. Expect some boat ramps to be inaccessible due to ice (snow) and most boat docks have not been placed. The Petric Park Boat Ramp Area is still frozen. Most anglers are bank fishing using dead minnows. The lake is 1.1 feet below full pool.
Please remember that once you retain your one redband/rainbow trout limit you must stop fishing for redband/rainbow trout. Also, all radio tagged redband trout must be released unharmed.
