Texas Fish Report

Fishing this past week has been decent for most anglers that were able to get out there. There are still trout leftover from the last trout plant we have with the kids’ event. You are still able to see schools of 10-20 trout swimming by at the main launch ramp. Nightcrawlers and Power-bait has been working best, with a few trout jigs working as well.

There have been a few swim bait fish caught recently but not too many to report.

 The stripers have mainly been hitting on sardines, anchovies, lug/blood worms, and nightcrawlers. There have been a few sightings of boils early in the morning, but the shad still haven’t migrated to the shallows yet.

Largemouth and small mouth have been bitting in good numbers for most anglers recent. Many different soft plastics have been working fo r a lot of anglers, with the good old nightcrawler also doing the trick. Robo worms, senkos, reapers, and ned rigs are just a few examples of baits that have been working out there.

The bluegill and crappie bite has recently started to gain some speed with an angler over the weekend nabbing 30 plus bluegill’s out of the upper lake.

The catfish still are biting on chicken liver, mackerel, and anchovies, and will only continue to pick up as the water temperature increases.
