Warm weather and the weekend crowds put most of the largies down to 30’ to 40’. There are a few schools of fish chasing bait off shore in the marina, and main lake points. Small top water, and swimbaits have mixed results with the schoolies and drop shot and Texas rigs were getting the deeper fish.

Bluegill can still be found around the grass in the cuts and over. Most of the panfish are in the .25 to .50 lb. range, and have been biting red worms, and small pieces of nightcrawler. Catfish went unreported last week.

Bass fishing was fair last week, the morning bite being the best. Look for schooling fish on the bank in toll road, aqueduct, and Barona arms of the lake. Flukes, poppers, frogs and small swimbaits all produced last week. Most of the schoolies have been in the 2lb. and 3lb. range. Bluegill Are Still Biting

Bass fishing was a bit tougher than last week, but limits can still be obtained with some work. A lot of the fish are in the 20’ to 30’ range but these have been hard to catch. There are still some largemouth on the bank that are willing to bite rip baits, jigs, senkos and small swimbaits.
