We received 2,000 lbs. on our last trout stocking, and it has been decent fishing with many limits to report. It has slowed down a tad since it has been more than a week since the truck came, but we are once again on the DFG list and are expecting another one this week! With that in mind, there should be good fishing in-the-near-future. Striped bass has been slow as of late and most fish have been caught down deep on trolled spoons and flies on lead-core line. Some anglers have still managed a couple on sardines and lug worms, but you need a fish finder to find those schools out deep around structure. The largemouth and smallmouth have been the same lately, with most fish being caught in deeper water and some suspended off steep drop offs. Some smaller swimbaits and spoons have been working for some anglers. The good old drop-shot and Carolina-rig is still doing the trick, with shad colored worms working best. It has been a tough grind for most lately. Some anglers have been netting live silver-side minnows and using them as bait with some success. The catfish are still biting here and there on any cut bait or worm. The bluegill and crappie are still hard to find, and the Lagoon has been the best place for these species.
