The little bit of surface action that happened last week has dies off, leaving anglers to fish deep for a scratchy finesse bite. There are still fish scatted form 10’ to 60’. Live shiners seemed to be the only thing the fish holding shallow would bite. No panfish were reported, and once again there were a few visuals of catfish on the chimney, but no one targeting them.

Fishing bass in the deep water was tough last week, but there were fish chasing small silverside no the surface in the marina and around the small island. Those who waited them out were able to pick a few of these off. Small flukes, and spoons both produced. The bass populating has been scattered form 10’ to 60; in the water column, making for tough conditions last week the shallow fish have been reluctant to bite and the deep fish have been taking jigs and drop shotted robo worms. Most of the largemouth have been in the 1lb. to 2lb. range, with an occasional 3lb. to 4 pounder showing. No sign of any panfish or catfish last week. ...... Read More
