Texas Fish Report

We are still waiting on our next trout stocking and has been about 3 weeks since our last. With that said, there are still a few anglers managing to score some rainbow trout. Most catches have been off Power-bait and small trout swimbaits. Some anglers bye boat have been reporting a decent bite off in deeper waters. The stripers are slowly starting to make more of an appearance but are still difficult to locate. Most bites are coming off cut bait in deep water as well. There have been a few reports of catfish being caught while soaking a sardine or anchovy. The largemouth and smallmouth have been tough to target, with most fish being caught in the 20-40 foot depth and shallower. Some anglers have been reporting getting bites as shallow as 5 feet of water which is a good sign. The lower lagoon has secretly been good fishing with decent largemouth showing off ice jigs and spoons. Crappie have also been reported to be hitting smaller spoons and jigs as well. The upper lake has been tough for bluegill and crappie lately.
