Bass Bite Has Been Good

The bass bite has been good both early and late on a wide variety of baits and techniques. Top waters, small swimbaits, wake baits all worked for fish on the bank. A lot of bass schooled up and chasing small silverside in open water. Worming has produced all day long as well. There was some bluegill action in both the Barona and Kimball arms on the lake. Drop shooting live night crawlers, and red worms was key for the panfish. Catfish went unreported to the concession last week.

The bass bite here has been almost as hot as the weather, many anglers reporting 20 to 30 fish days. Top waters are getting but both early and late and good finesse action in the mid morning/ afternoon. Most of the largemouth have been in the 2lb. to 3lb. Bass Are Starting to School Up and Chasing Silversides

The bass are starting to school up and are in open water chasing small silversides. The best action has started around 8 am until 6 pm. The more boats on the water, the more boils you’ll see. A-rigs, flukes and poppers all worked on the breaking fish. The worm bite has been fair in the 30’ to 40’ of water in main lake areas.
