Anglers should confirm access before they go. All Metro Parks (including Oxbow) are closed due to fire danger. State recreation areas (including Dabney and Lewis and Clark) are open as of Sept. 16.
No sign of coho yet, but last year the first coho showed up at the Bull Run weir the first week in September. It might not be too soon to look for a few fish in the lower river.
The Sandy is glacially-fed and hot weather tends to blow out the Sandy with glacial silt. However, anglers continue to catch fish in the off-colored water.
USGS hydrological data for Sept. 16 shows Sandy flows near Bull Run were at 361 cfs and a gauge reading of 7.72 feet.
