The recent storms adversely affected striper results on the Sacramento River, according to local guide Kevin Brock. "Since that storm hit, we basically have had chocolate mud coming downstream", quipped Brock. "Before that, stripers ranging from legal-size to 17 pounds were moving upstream from Colusa, and limits were the rule every day on live jumbo minnows."
Brock tipped, "On Friday, using cut bait like anchovies, sardines or pile worms will be necessary so that the fish can find your bait. By the weekend, it should clear up enough so that live minnows will be working again."
