This past week it seemed as if fishing had all but slowed to a crawl. Not many fishermen, and even fewer reports until the later half of the week and that fishing was dominated by Largemouth Bass. Top fish was an 11 lbs. beauty caught at the inlet off of a night crawler. Dark plastics and worms seem to b producing the best along the South shore, Ramp #2 area and the East end. Striper still were biting but were slow most of the week. Anchovies still seem to be the best bait for them, soaking them along the dam and inlet. Cats were stocked on this past Thursday, but still remain somewhat shy. Also, Bluegill seem to be on their nests again, perhaps a second spawn for them.

These are the following fish reports:

Bass: Excellent with an Average size of 3-4 lbs.
Bluegill: Good
Carp: Good
Catfish: Fair
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Good with an Average size of 1-2 lbs.
Trout: Poor

This past week of fishing was somewhat over shadowed by the Solar Cup event that took place here over the weekend. Fishing reports are somewhat spotty, but it sounds like small striper are once again the main action. Stripers once again provided most of the fish caught this past week, however the inlet has become the hot sport for these fish. The channels leading into the East end and Ramp #2 remain strong as well. Anchovies still the best bait followed closely by chicken liver.
