Texas Fish Report

Captain Temo Verboonen says the rainy season is upon them and is changing both the weather and the water. It\'s now blue water inshore with several schools of dorado, averaging about 15 lbs. and an excellent bite on quality sized roosterfish, many in the 40-60 lb. ranges. Lots of rainbow runners and bonito around the rocks and overall, just very good daily action when the boats do get out. Offshore provided some good yellowfin tuna acttion at about 25 miles, with the fish in the 25-30 lb. average ranges. The sailfish bit has also been quite good but for the most part, they have been very close inshore, at about 2 miles from the entrance to Zihuatanejo Bay. Most of the river mouths are now open with water flowing into the ocean from the rains in the mountains. Need more anglers to take advantage of the good overall bite.

IZ Climate: Partly cloudy days, temps from 70 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Light surface breezes, good temps, 85 inshore to 86.5 offshore, mostly clean waters.

Best Fishing Area: Sailfish at about 2 miles, tuna at about 25 miles, roosterfish, rainbow runners close to shore.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait for the roosterfish, rigged baits for the sailfish and feathers for the tuna.

Bait Supply: Remains good.
