The water is still constantly dropping a foot or two a day and the water level is crazy low. They’re doing construction on the dam which is the reason behind the water drop these past few months. Hopefully bu the end they will have enough water to fill it back up, fingers crossed.
The largemouth bite has been steady the past few weeks. Even with these waterer temps we’ve been having the topwater and reaction bite has been decent. When it gets later int eh day, the good old drop shot will do the trick as well. Robo worms and nightcrawlers have been the best for bottom fishing.
The striper are getting a little bigger in the boils but there are still a lot fo smaller stripers biting too. Trolling flies, flutter spoons on the drop shot and some topwater has been the techniques of choice. They are also using cut bait and lug worms to some success.
The catfish are still biting decently with most catching coming off of any cut bait or chicken liver and nightcrawlers.
The bluegill and crappie are still harder to locate but a few nicer sized pan fish have been caught lately.
The lower lake is usually a better spot to catch those species.
