WE ARE NOW OPEN EVERY DAY AT 6 AM. CLOSING TIME FOR SHORE FISHING IS 7:45PM.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 26. This is the date for our O.P ball memorial fishing in the Pines Kid's Derby. This is an annual event and we are planning a fun day for all kids that come to the lake. There will be goody bags for each kid and a free day of fishing for all kids four to fifteen years of age. Some very nice prizes will be handed out to the kids that catch the biggest Trout. Stay for more info as we get closer to the derby date.
DFG stocked the lake on Tuesday, with 1200 pounds of very nice trout.
Best Trout Bait: Night crawlers, power bait, trout teasers.
Best Spots: Buoy line at the dam, Willows
Notables:
- Julie Johnson of Spring Valley caught a 15 pound catfish on worms at the dam.
- Sofia Stein, Gracie Selecky and Mark Selecky caught 1 Trout, 1 Bluegill and 34 Crappie.
- Jeff Becker of San Diego caught 12 Crappie on Trout Teasers on a drift from the Dam to Pumphouse Cove.
- Craig and Blair parker of El Cajon caught 7 trout for a total of 5 pounds, the largest 1.25 pounds, using Rainbow Powerbait at the buoy line by the dam.
- Don Sanders of Yuma AZ caught 1 Bass weighing 8lbs 6oz on a wacky worm at the Willows.
THE FREE FISHING CLASS IS ON SATURDAY AT 10:00am. Meet Ranger Charlie at the Launch Ramp.
THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS BEFORE A LAUNCH. A FEE IS CHARGED.
