Texas Fish Report

We finally had our first trout stocking of the season on 10/28/21. The trout being just stocked will be easiest to catch these next few days. We hopefully should be getting a stock every other week from now until spring. Trout have mainly been biting on Powerbaits, spoons and garlic nightcrawlers. Small trout jigs have also been working.

The striper bite has remained productive, with angels reporting limits with some decent size ones in the mix. For the most part there have been a lot of smaller stripers being caught. Nightcrawlers, lugworms, sardines, and anchvoice have been working the best. With the recent trout plants a few anglers have been having luck throwing trout swimbaits. A few above 10 pounds have been caught recently.

The largemouth bite has slowed down a little bit, but if you can locate them schooling up down deep you can have a good quality day. Fish finders have been helping anglers get on top fo fish that are in deeper waters. Drop shot finesse baits, night crawlers and spoons hav been getting most bites. Flukes and some reaction baits have also been working.

The Catfish are still biting off cut bait and nightcrawlers. There have been some decent quality cats caught up to the 10 pound range.

The bluegill and crappie bite remains slow, and the lagoon is the best shot at these species lately.
