We once again received a sizable trout stocking on 11/30/21 on the main launch ramp. It was around 1400 lbs. Rainbows are mainly biting on mice tails, spoons or spinners and dough Powerbaits. The guys chucking big swimbaits have been able to land a few bigger sized stripers as well. Huddlestons, punkers and glide baits have been getting most of the attention. With consistent plants the tout bite has really kicked into gear from shore.
The largemouth and smallmouth bite is still going steady, you just must take the time to locate them schooled up and you can get on some good quality fish. A fish finder has been helping lately target those deeper schools of fish. Drop shots and Carolina rigged plastics seem to be working the best, along with a few small swimbaits dragged along the bottom.
Stripers have been biting cut bait off the bottom. There have been a lot fo small stripers caught but bigger ones are appearing more often.
Catfish have slowed down along with bluegill and crappie. Most of these species have still been biting at the lower lagoon.
