Fishing at both the lagoon and upper lake has been doing very well this past week. Striper are still doing fantastic all over the lake. Kong Island, Elizabeth Canyon, Sharron's rest, Government cove and the West Walls have been the greatest places to find the stripers. Mainly it has been a top water bite for the boils but the cut bait bite is still very strong. Anchovies and sardines are working as well as night crawlers and frozen Shad. The largemouth bite has still been going strong in the backs of most coves as well as the points. Lots of largemouth boils are being reported around old SS and any top water bait seems to do the trick. Worms, plastics and some small crank baits are working the catch the bass along the shore lines. Quite a few catfish are being brought in, most weighing over 8 pounds. Most of the catfish are being caught by fluke on night crawlers and anchovies. The pan fish bite as been very slow at the upper lake but is still going strong at the lower lake all over the shoreline near the camp sites. The largemouth at the lower lake are biting pretty steadily through the night into the morning hours, drop shot and Texas rigging seem to be doing best. The fishing pier has been a great place to catch the smaller bass and some pan fish. The spillway has been the place to catch the bigger bass in the early morning to mid day.
