Catfish can be found throughout the lake, but bite particularly well at either end. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station to request a dough-bait recipe that works wonders for both catfish and carp.

A good number of nice sized crappie are being caught in the early mornings and late afternoons. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners. They can be found hiding close to shore or under the cover of floating structures.

Bass have been on a steady diet of shad and mostly disinterested in lures. Bass can be caught on shad-raps, crawdads, and dark colored plastics.
