A stiff south wind made for an exciting ride out on our way to the Deep Reef area off of Half Moon Bay this morning. Once we got there though, it moderated & we had around 12-14kts with basically no swell & relatively small chop.
No secret that south wind can shut down the bite, but we found some pretty decent action nonetheless. Quite a lot of missed opportunities, a few fish lost to Sea Lions (but we DID get a couple back from ‘em too) and at the end of the day we had over a fish per rod… 23 King Salmons for 18 anglers up to 25lb.
