Texas Fish Report

The lake will remain closed for fishing and to the general public on weekdays throughout the fall, as it does every year, We will return to our seven day a week schedule in December at the beginning of trout season.

Catfish are biting at the east end where the water has been flowing in from the canal. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.

The bass bite has been strong. The bass can be found lurking near structure. The bass have been hitting top water lures, but they also like crawdads, and dark colored plastics.

Black Crappie are being caught near Bass Point or the Leriget Crappie Float mostly early in the morning or on overcast days. They are most often caught using live golden shiners or mini-jigs.
