Texas Fish Report

Although the beginning of the week started out rather slow, with few fish to speak of, the later half of the week picked back up for most of the fishermen. Striper have been the main draw here at the lake for the past few weeks, and they continue to be the most active fish on the lake. Morning hours are the best, and the bigger fish are still coming in off of artificial lures and most of that being top water. Shore side action picked up for the striper as well as the points near Ramp #2 produced a few striper in the 5 pound range. Ramp#2 area and Inlet remain the best chance for the monster striper. Smaller schoolies can be picked up in the East End, Inlet and Ramp #2 area using chicken liver and cut anchovies. Trout still hitting well at Ramp #2. Trout are hitting blown up night crawlers, powerbait, salmon eggs and troutmallows. Catfish also still hitting well in the deeper waters along the South Shore and the Dam and Inlet. Chicken liver and cut mackerel still king for these cats. Bass action continues to be fair with several small bass near the shoreline with 3-4 pounders making up most of the other bass action. East End and South Shore remain the best location for bass fishing.
