While the inshore fishing far outpaced the offshore catches, for those anglers that did hone in on a billfish wound-up with about a 40% chance. It seemed like the full moon had a downside effect on the billfish in all areas. The inshore super pangas, reporting for 8 days fished reflected limits on mojarres, cochitos, 39 pargo, 12 palometas, 1 barracuda and 2 corvina. The offshore catches for 28 days fishing reflected 8 stripers, 3 sailfish, 7 dorado and 9 yellowfin tuna.
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 55 nights to 83 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Very favorable with temps stable at 76 degrees from inshore to offshore and mostly calm
Best Fishing Area: There was no concentration of fish in the offshore waters and the fish were scattered over a wide area out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid.
Best Lure/Bait: All of the billfish were taken on the rigged trolling baits.
