The fishing for Salmon was slow in the Soquel Hole today but there were a few fish caught up above Davenport. The boats were working in 320 feet of water near Scotts Creek. The best score I heard was 7 fish in that area. The Salmon are still quality grade so come try your luck. The few boats I spoke to from Soquel Hole reported big balls of bait but no bites. There was one 17 pound Salmon weighed in from 36'51/121'58 near the East edge of the Soquel Hole. The angler was mooching 200 feet down with a Anchovy. You might want to try trolling deeper. The Rockcod fishing was decent at Ano Nuevo. There were good scores of Lingcod but the Rockcod bite is still a little slow. The water was nice all morning but the wind did come up when the fog cleared around 2:00.
I just got a report from a boater who was trolling home in the wind and was hooking fish from 3 Trees to the Harbor in 200-220 feet of water. The Salmon are on the bite in the wind but it is hard to work the gear right now at 4:30. The angler has hooked 6 fish this afternoon.
