Finally, boats float on South Lake! Although much later than we'd hoped, the staff at South Lake was able to get 6 boats on the water and if the summer-like weather continues the next few days, we will have at least 4 boats available for rent starting 5-11-07. There is still some ice on the lake but what ice is left is melting quickly and has become very unstable leaving us with the hope of an ice-free lake by next weekend.

5-10-2007This past week we've seen excellent fishing in both the creeks and lakes in the area. The action at South Lake has been exceptional as the lake continues to ice out. The first trophy rainbow of the year, a beautiful holdover from last season that weighing an estimated six pounds, was caught on Tuesday.
