The inshore fishing is turning on with anglers catching some great Halibut, Lingcod, and Rockcod. There were some anglers who worked for Halibut today and they were rewarded. The scores ranged from 1-5 Halibut a boat trolling and drifting dead Squid. The anglers are working from the Mile Buoy to the Yellow Buoy near Capitola and catching some nice Halibut. We weighed in the first Halibut of the year today and the fish were from 12-22 pounds. The few anglers who ran up the coast to try Salmon caught a few fish at 36'52/122'04. The few that ran to Ano Nuevo had a hard time holding the boat on the fish. The Rockcod fishing was better from Natural Bridges to the Lighthouse in 60-90 feet of water. The wind was down near the Soquel Hole until noon. The inshore did not blow until 1:00-2:00. Stop by in the morning and get some of this nice big Squid the anglers used today.
