Texas Fish Report

Bass fishing is still your best bet here at Lake Skinner. Bass are coming in all over the lake, but the South Shore and the East End remain your best bet. Once again the top bait is dark plastics. Deep purples and greens are working great and night crawlers are a good choice as well. Bluegills are showing up in greater numbers as well along the South Shore. Most people report getting the bluegills off of worms back in the coves. Catfish are still warming up. Greater numbers are coming in and shore fishermen near Ramp #2 have been hooking up into them as well. Mackerel and chicken liver seems to be your best bet. Catfish have not been stocked yet, but they should begin stocking cats in June. Striper are still on the slow side. Overcast or foggy mornings have produced a fair number of striper, but the sun has kept them down most of the days. Some fishermen are reporting seeing small fry in the lake, so it should not be too much more time before they get big enough for the striper to find and boil on. Most striper are still coming in on chicken liver. East End Channel seems to be the hottest spot from boat and shore as the Marina Point is producing a few striper as well. Several reports of big carp up to 15 pounds coming in back in the East End and the Ramp #2 Area.
