The weather this week was mixed again, and just like last week we had a
mix of fish reported. the first half of the week seemed to favor the
catfish while the second half got cooler and stayed overcast and the
striper were the best bet. Striper still are not wide open, but the
boils are becoming more fishable, especially from shore near Ramp #2 in
the evening. They are getting some striper by casting into the boils off
the points, but from what most have said, the boils still remain a fair
distance off from the shore. Boils are happening in both the East End
and the Ramp#2 area, but the fishability is very slim due to lake
operation hours. Best bait has been anchovies followed close by chicken
liver. Bait fishing has produce some linesides at the inlet and back in
the channels. Some top water action has been reported. Catfish have
slowed but are still hitting. They are not biting in mass numbers but
some nice sized cats up to 9 pounds are still coming. Chicken liver and mackerel seems to be the best baits for the catfish. look for the cats to be heading back down for deeper water near the dam and the inlet. Bass still hitting in the morning and bluegill are still coming in as well but not to many reports so kind of a lack of good informatio on them. The big news is that the first trout stock has been pushed back, due to weather and water temperature we have been told, and will now take place the second week of November followed by another stock the following week. After the second stock, stocking should happen just about every other week.
Rate the action based over the past week:
