Open for catch-and-release fishing. DFG Rules . . .Hot Creek from the State hatchery property line to the confluence with the Owens River. All year. Only artificial flies with barbless hooks may be used. Hot Creek is fishing good to excellent. Run-off is starting. The water is a little stained but still clear enough to see the bottom on most days. There has been a ton of insects hatching at Hot Creek right now. Baetis, PMDs,Green Drakes, Trico's Caddis and Yellow Sallies are coming off in big numbers....heads up the next month for a good PMD hatches....HotCreek ranch has fished fantastic this year
