Catfish action is good and Bass action is picking up at Lake Skinner as of May 23rd

Reminder that the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival that will be taking place June 3rd, 4th & 5th, the lake will be closed for all fishing during the event.
Fishing has begun to pick up at Lake Skinner. Catfish have been stocked, and they along with non-stocker catfish are hitting this past week. Ramp # 2 area is the best for them from the shore, but is you have a boat the dam and inlet areas and the South Shore is the spot to be fishing for them. Mackerel are working the best, but other baits, especially once dipped in Hog Wild, have been working.
Bass fishing is also good right now with the fish running shallow in the mornings and the evenings in the East End and along the South Shore. Worms and dark plastics work the best for bass.
Stripers are hitting fairly well, but most are still in the 1-2 pound range. Anchovies work the best for stripers off of points near Ramp #2. As well as by boat near the dam/inlet and the East End channel.
Bluegill fishing is also reported to be getting better with the fish hitting worms and meal worms fished off the bottom in coves along the South Shore, back up in the Ramp # 2 area and in the East End.
