"HOWDY" from Lake Cuyamaca......
The man who started this catch-phrase is "Hugh Marx"....a real leader in the lake management system and well known around the San Diego area. One person who is always very open with his knowledge and advice. He hangs his hat at Lake Jennings now, but he still helps out with advice and direction for us here at Lake Cuyamaca.
We received some trophy trout from Jess Ranch and Mt. Lassen ......and they are coming out of the water. There have been good numbers of fish greater than 4 pounds. Some examples are:
On 11-29-2011 Anthony Noy of San Diego caught a 9-1/2 pounder, an 8-1/2 pounder and a 7 pounder as part of his limit tossing a Thomas Buoyant off the north side of the island at the rocky area. Also on 11-29-2011 Drew Ellsworth of El Cajon caught his limit on the north shore and Lawney Raymond of El Cajon caught a 7-1/2 pound rainbow trout also on the north shore. The next day (11-30-2011)Tim Faubel of San Diego reeled in another 7-1/2 pounder at the north finger jetty. Bass are still being taken at the south end with Melvin Langhorn from Chula Vista showing up 4 times in the last week and catching and releasing some monster bass. The ospreys are not practicing the new catch and release policy, but they are always fun to watch.
Waterfowl Hunting begins Sunday December 4th and continues every Sunday morning and Wednesday until the end of January. So, anglers, this is a heads up.....no fishing during Waterfowl Hunting hours. Otherwise we will be open .......Remember the "Off Season Specials"......give us a call if you are interested in what we have to offer as incentives to get folks to come up and visit our Lake during the off season.......
Tight lines.......Dusty Britches.
