The Department of Fish & Game will be stocking the Upper lake with Rainbow Trout the week of December 11th. Striper fishing is still a little stagnant and very spotty throughout the day. Some small boils have been reported in the fish arm, but at most they only last for about 15 to 20 seconds. Top water lures, if you can find a boil, have been working to bring in the 3 to 5 pounders. Swimbait from the shoreline has still been difficult. Spro BBZ's, Lunker Punkers, and Huddleston's are a few of the baits that have caught some of the 14+ pound stripers. The Dam and the West Ramp have been solid spots to hit for stripers for the first few days after the trout plant.
The largemouth are still being very picky and line shy with how clear the water has been. Some plastics have been working to snag the bass in the shallows but most of them are a little deeper around 20 feet or so. The largemouth fishing at the lagoon has been slower than usual but the panfish and cats are doing all right and are hitting nightcrawlers.
