Upper lake WATER TEMP: 70-73 Degrees
Lower Lagoon WATER TEMP: 69-73 Degrees
Stripers are still popping up everywhere from the Buoy Line to Elizabeth Cyn. Fresh dead sardines are the best bait for the stripers that seems to hanging out anywhere from 20 to 80 feet of water. Sharron's rest has limits of stripers hanging out by eucalyptus point.
The largemouth bite has been fantastic still with anglers catching lots of 3 to 5 pounders off night crawlers and plastics. Cinnamon Blue Berkley power worms worked great all week in Hawks nest and Old SS off the points and drop offs. Frozen shad has been getting a mix of stripers and largies near Kong Island and coves around the island. Government Cove and Ball Point are great shore spots for roaming stripers and some largemouth that are sticking to the structure.
The fishing at the lagoon has been great all day and though the night. Night crawlers and big plastic worms have been doing wonders on the whopper largies. 12 inch June bug power worms caught a pair of 9 pound largies for anglers Mike and Jennifer Crownley of Riverside. At night Swimbaits have been working wonders for anglers willing to be there around 2 to 4 AM. At the fishing pier Blue Gill and Crappie are biting on small jigs, wax worms and meal worms.
