Texas Fish Report

BASS:
Kenny Murphy, pictured above age 16 from Santee, caught a 5 lb. 9 oz. Bass out of lake 2 on a swimbait.

CATFISH:
The Lakes hosted the final Nightfishing Event for the summer last Thursday with about 75 anglers in attendance. Fishing was good with some larger Cats being pulled from the lakes. Maxwell Parenteau caught a 5 lb. Catfish out of lake 4 on chicken liver. Mark Miller from Ramona caught a 5 lb. Catfish out of lake 4 on a nightcrawler. Kailani caught two Catfish out of lake 3 on mackerel.

17,000 lbs. of Channel Catfish has been stocked so far this year!

BLUEGILL:
The bluegill are plentiful in all 7 of the Santee Lakes. This is a great time of the year to bring the young kids out to catch their first fish.

Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam's Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees
Adult (ages 16 and over) $9.00 per day
Junior (ages 7 to 15) $6.00 per day
Second fishing pole stamp $4.00
*One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
