Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: With a scheduled Stocking this week from D.F.G. (water conditions permitting) the trout inventory will be increased. Warm water and hot humid days have the trout on a lazy day routine. Very little action?? with some activity early morning and late afternoon- evening.?? Crappie are providing great entertainment for anglers of all ages. Bring out the kids and let them catch fish. Use a small tube jig for this fun and tasty treat. ?? Bullhead catfish are very aggressive??in seeking out?? your night crawler on the bottom.!!!??TWILIGHT MOTOR BOATS ARE $ 15.00 last (3) HOURS OF THE DAY???? !!!!???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? !!!?? BULLHEAD-A-THON catch the most Bullheads for a prize!!!!
!!! We now have???? 3 NEW SLEEPING CABINS?? for rent!!! ??**call for information.**
Trout Bait:30-36 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,?? salmon eggs.??Night Crawler 12inches below a bobber.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)??
Best Trout Lures: Gold/yellow-orange Panther Martins and Rainbow Rapala, Trolling. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)??
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line by dam buoy line.
Notable:?? No fish over 3lbs???? ( Limits of Crappie)
Fly Fishing: Emergers, Nymphs, and Elk Hair Caddis should produce something besides Crappie, which will take just about anything. Some fish feeding on surface early a.m. and late p.m.
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell Aug. 5, 2007.The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM: ?? Ranger Willard?? will teach??tried and true trout techniques using?? bait, tube jigs and lures for Trout, Crappie and Bullheads.
Prognosis:!!???? With a stocking from Mojave D.F.G. trout will be more plentiful. The trout catching may not improve so come up and catch some Crappie, use small tube jigs or meal worms. This is almost a sure thing. With the weather staying warm this week Crappie and Catfish will be filling the stringers. Channel Cats are looking for your Mackerel. Its top water time for the large mouth bass.?? Water?? surface temp 70-74 deg, Please feel free to ask our staff any questions you may have
