The fishing for Albacore was decent for some and good for others. The scores ranged from 5-15 fish a boat from 36'45/122'37 to 36'50/122'53. The water was flat calm all day long today on the outside but it blew in the afternoon on the inside. I fished Ano Nuevo and caught some nice Rockcod and Lingcod. The area at Ano Nuevo will be closing some time soon so go up there while you can. The Halibut fishing was decent for the anglers who worked the 4 mile area. There were a few Halibut caught in Capitola in 45 feet of water. The Salmon are still being caught in the Soquel Hole in 220 feet of water down 80-120 feet down. The water is expected to stay calm for the next few days.

8-5-2007The fishing for Albacore was decent today out 35 miles from Santa Cruz. The scores ranged from 3-12 fish a boat working 36'40/122'38, 36'43/122'34, 36'40/122'35, and 36'47/122'50. The wind was up in the morning but the wind died in the afternoon and became flat calm. The wind is going to stay calm all day Monday so it could be a good time to run.
