Hey anglers,
We started our trip out to the southwest of San Diego today looking for those big albacore. We had 52 of those fish which isn't too bad. We were hoping for more but any time you get more than 50 of that size fish, it is definitely worth the effort.
All the fish are over 25 pounds with a few 35 pounders mixed in. The hot trolling feather was our Pink Zuker so it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick one up at the local tackle shop for your trolling outfit.
We have great news: We are headed for Guadalupe Island after receiving our permit today. So we will be one of the first boats to fish there this year. Between the three boats there tomorrow, we should have the island checked out.

I wish i could say ya that they bit for us better than yesterday but they didn't. So we were able to catch a few more albacore before we went home. There were lots of fish seen--jumping on the meters and sonar, but that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Hope to see ya on the water and good luck...... Read More
