Water temperature was at 80 degrees, water level is fair, Algae bloom down.
Bluegill: Medium
Action: Smaller ones ranging 1 pounder, hitting on live crickets and night crawlers over at the East Bay.
Carp: High
Action: Plenty and fun, same baits, Trout pellets, corn products from Berkley and smelly jelly is great.
Catfish: High
Action: Cats are hitting on Sardines, mackerels and chicken livers… any cove,anytime. This is hottest bite on the lake. A lot of 5 – 7 pounders seen.
Largemouth Bass: Slow
Action: Largemouths have been difficult, 2-3 pound range, possible because of all bait fish in water, full moon, and water levels have changed the bite-up. It has been tough but able to be done with swim bait (small size only), very little frog action with regular drop shot, sinkos producing as usual.
Striped Bass: Most action still with scroungers, flukes, umbrella rings, Alabama rings…slow trolling which is only producing the small fish 1-2 pounders. Bigger fish, 10ft down with lead core line, fly fishing…3-4 pounders…All chances for big ones out by inlet or main channel with big top waters.
