The wind and rain has been making it tough. Mornings and late afternoons are the time to hit the lake. Make sure to bring an umbrella, jacket and swing through the store and grab a warm cup of coffee or hot coco.
Last Trout stock was December 28th 2016.
Stripes' The striper have been up and down. They are more active since the trout are coming in, so that’s a bonus. They are traveling in smaller groups, so some areas are really hit and miss. The best luck we have heard so far has been the across from the Marina and the South Shore.. Smaller swimbaits, chicken liver and Nightcrawlers have been the way to go!
Large Mouth: Work the coves on the South and East ends. The bite has slowed slightly, but they are still hitting on plastics and Nightcrawlers. Drop-shots are also working well for these beauties.
Your: We were stocked on the 28" of December with 600Ibs.. There has been marginal luck in the East End and near Launch Ramp 2...Next stocking of Trout will be on January 11, 2017... Power bait is working somewhat, but you might have better luck with rooster tails.
Blue Gill: The gills are few and far between. They have been found sporadically around the lake. Trying using plain Ole Nightcrawlers.
Cat)'ish: Catfish have been seen near Launch ramp 2 for the best luck. The weather is cooling quickly, so expect to go deep to have much luck. Anchovies, chicken livers, and garlic shrimp are the way to go.
Carp: There are still tons of carp in the lake. If that’s your fish come on out and see what kind of magic you can work. They are always fun to catch!
