The water temperature has cooled back down a little but the water level is up. The fish still seem to be going deeper, mostly caught in the middle of the lake, also the Handicap area and the South Shore are still the spots to hit! Last Trout plant was January 25th, 2017.
Stripes: The striper bite has slowed down some. These beauties have been seen in open water in the middle of the lake and over near the South Shore. Swimbaits, jerkbaits and cut bait have been working best in the afternoons.
Larae Mouth. Large Mouth have slow. There are still smaller largemouth being caught throughout the lake. The colder nights are making them go deeper on drop shots and jigs. .. They have also been seen in the shallow waters over around the South Shore and Handicap area.
7ro‹›r: Next Stock of Trout will be on February bthe 2017, usually about 600lbs, which is great for the lake. Trout have been seen in the East End and along the coves.. Power bait is still the best way to go on these beauties.
Blue Gill. Slow Action on the Blue Gills the past few weeks. No action reported. Try Nightcrawlers, red worms and crickets.
Catfish: Catfish have been doing great up to 12-13 pounds around the East End. They are also still very active around the buoy line, near the inlet and middle of the lake. Chicken livers, mackerel, and garlic shrimp have been working best! Catfish have also been seen over by Launch ramp 2.
Carp: There are still tons of carp in the lake. Big Carp ready to catch and a fun way to teach the kiddo’s how to fish!
