Fishing at Castaic has slowed a bit this week.The water has a little algae bloom that has affected the boils a little. Stripers and bass are still boiling here and there in the mornings. Stripers are starting to bite bloodworms in 40 to 75 ft. Plastic worms and shad pattern lures have been working for largemouth and smallmouth bass. The bluegil bite has been very good. Most bluegill are being caught on wax worms and bobbers. The catfish is picking up. Nightcrawlers and cutbait have been working best for catfish.

Fishing at Castaic is good right now. Stripers and bass have been boiling in the mornings for the first couple hours. The bluegil bite has been very good. Fishing at Castaic is very good. Bass and stripers are chasing shad all over the lake. Coves have been the best. Most guys are using shad pattern lures to catch stripers and bass.
