Striper boils have been hit and miss the past few days and most of the boils seen have been after the sun hits the water and later in the evening. When anglers are able to get some casts into the boils, they have been having some success. Top water, reaction baits, and flukes all have been working. The anglers who are downsizing their lures and baits have been having the best luck. The stripers are still biting cut bait and worms down in deeper water, and guys working these baits on a fly-line have been having the most success. The largemouth and smallmouth bite has also been off and on. Whenever you are able to find schools of shad or minnows, you can assume there are some bass close bye. Any shad imitation bait has been working best, and once it heats up throughout the day the good old drop shot has been producing as well. Catfish are making more appearances as of late, many caught on cut bait or garlic scented worms. The trout bite has slowed down a bit, but you are still able to nab a few with bright colored power-baits or anything with garlic scent as well. The bluegill and crappie bite still remain good, with good numbers to report this past week.
