Anglers had to change tactics and species to get a good bite this week. After all the rain the creek was munging and the channel cats were on the prowl. We saw some great catches and heard some real fish stories. Four anglers caught and released 56 catfish on Tuesday using Night crawlers. Catfish power bait and chicken liver was also doing the job on the South end of the lake. The Trout bit has been a little tough after the rain but they are still bringing them in. The water is clear in swallow bay or the dam. The lake has come up and is starting to clear. We hope you will come on up and enjoy this great lake. Close, affordable and a lot of fun, That's beautiful Lake Del Valle. The hardy anglers have been here all week rain or shine and have been rewarded with some nice catches. The trout are still at the top of the list running between 2 and 3 lbs. but we have also seen some in the 7 to 8 lbs. range. Powerbait,Powereggs,Nightcrawlers have been doing particularly well. The weather was up and down all week and so was the fishing. Anglers did well on Kastmasters, Rapalas, and Night crawlers. The water temperature on some days was 57 at the surface so the anglers had to keep trying different depths and different combinations but we did see some nice catches and a number of fishermen with there limits.
