Texas Fish Report

Fishing has been decent the past few days. There has been a good amount of boils and surface action going on, you just have to locate them and use the right lure. Topwater and spoons have been working best for the stripers and most of those boils hav been out off main points and deeper water. 

The Largemouth and smallmouth are begin best first thing in the morning and later in the evening. Most fish have been caught off flukes and jerk baits, with the occasional blow up on topwater.  The bass have been a little more finicky and after the sun hits the water they tent to not want a lot of baits. You’ll have to fund out what they’re willing to bite. The good old drop-shot has still been producing good numbers. Any baitfish and natural color worm has been working. 

The Catfish are still being caught off any bait that gives off a strong scent, such as anchovies and mackerel. 

The Bluegill and Crappie are still being with most anglers having success in shallower water in the backs of coves where there is good cover and vegetation.
