Poor weather again this week put a hurting on the lakes. High winds and rain kept many people in the comforts of home, but those who did make it out most scored some fish. Largemouth Bass tightened the jaw muscles a little more as the spawn continues, but the non bedding fish are still feeding. Man Largemouth Bass caught in deeper water and some bed fish were taken as well. Creature baits and many other six and shapes along with colors have been the weapons of choice. A few reports of drop shotting but most on a Texas rig and fly lining. Striper action slowed from weeks past but they are still there for those willing to work. Morning seems to be the time of day for the best bite on Largemouth Bass and striper with a decline but not dead bite mid morning to early afternoon. The bouyline in the back showed sign of life this past week with two boat limits of 30 and 20 fish caught and many reports of multiple catches to 8 fish per angler. Average fish back there reported and confirmed is 2 to 3 pounds. The lagoon got a trout plant last Monday giving the bass something to chew on besides plastics.
