Despite and unusually large plant this past Monday the striper did not come up as expected. Speculation blames the weather front shortly after the plant for the decline in both Largemouth Bass and Striper action. Some big ones were caught along with many smaller fish but unfortunately not in the numbers as those in past weeks. The bait bite continued to show signs of activity in the late morning through the early afternoon hours while big baits being thrown in the morning and late afternoon panned out some quality fish. Largemouth were primarily on the plastics again this past week with a handful or two of night crawler bites reported. The trout remain in the Marina as well as down the damn and have been seen as far up as Elizabeth canyon. Cats reported to 6 pounds buy folks soaking stink bait and mackerel in the somewhat shallower areas of coves. The lagoon has reportedly released some double digit Largemouth Bass to the 11 and 12 pound mark with average fish in the 1 to 3 pound range for tubers and shore pounders alike. Big bluegill and some crappy have been reported this past week as well. Cats in the lagoon are ranging in the 2 to 3 pound class.
