Trout in the lagoon this past week made for some nice Largemouth Bass for a few guys on float tubes and shore anglers alike. Fish reported to 11 pounds from the lower with an average of 2 to 3 pounders. Striper action declined slightly from last week but have not gone away. Again this week the bouyline showed more signs of life with many limits of linesides caught. Most bouyline fish were in the 2 to 4 pound class with a few 5 and 7 models taken in the mix. Anchovies and sardines seemed to be the bait of choice with a nice couple of limits for those jigging kastmasters and buck tails out there as well. Quite a few striper taken from the dam and points north of the Marina and west of the West Ramp on big baits in the morning and late afternoon. Largemouth Bass have taken an upswing in the bite this past week with average buckets tipping the 3 to 4 pound mark with a few reported 6 to 8 pounders an 3 double digit fish with a 12 pounder taking a big fish of the week. Night crawlers have been working well along with plastics worms to 10 inches, creature baits and a reported jig bite. Trout action slowed in the upper with wind declining numbers of trout, however the trout have been thick in the lagoon. Powerbait and 1/16 to 1/8 ounce "shiny" stuff have been the most productive. No reports of cats of panfish.
