Texas Fish Report

This past week of fishing has been a large improvement for boat fishermen, but still remains somewhat slow for shore fishermen. Striper picked up their bite along the whole dam and inlet, and a few reported in the East End Channel as well. Chicken liver seems to be the4 best bait right now, but anchovies are still producing. Most of the striper remain small, 2-4 pound range, however there were multiple reports of fishermen loosing bigger fish this weekend to line breaks. Cats have begun to stir more as well, but areas are along the dam, however the inside of Social Security Point has been producing cats as well. Mackerel and chicken liver are your best bets for the catfish. Bass continue to bite, but are driven into deeper water with this warmer weather. South Shore still the hot spot for the bass. Bluegill are also proving anglers with some fun, mostly in the late afternoon. Bobber fishing worms and mealworms in the coves seems to be your best bet right now for the gills.
