Cats are king here at Lake Skinner. Larger catfish up and around the 8 lb. range are being caught. East End is this week's hot spot for the larger catfish, but the Dam and the Inlet remain strong as well. Mackerel seems to be the best bait for the East End and shore fishermen, but chicken liver is still the best out near the Dam and the Inlet. Striper are still biting, but seem to disappear once morning is gone. Those looking for striper are advised to head toward the Dam and Inlet, use chicken liver or anchovies and fish them deep. Some fishermen have reported, some luck trolling rattle traps along the coves, along the South shore as well. Bluegill continue to bite well as some fishermen had 30 plus good size fish on their stringers.
These are the following fish ratings:
Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Excellent
Carp: Fair
Catfish: Poor with an Average size of 4 lbs.
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Good with an Average size of 2 lbs.
Trout: Poor
